Position Overview
Otterbein Jackson is seeking Weekend Warrior Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for weekend-only coverage. Applicants must be compassionate and provide outstanding patient care and physical support for residents on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities

Provide great patient care and compassionate support.
Answer patient calls and determine how best to help.
Provide physical support with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
Turn and reposition bedridden patients.
Ensure residents receive an appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
Obtain information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
Measure and record food/liquid intake and urinary/fecal output; report changes to medical or nursing staff.
Record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) as requested.
Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements per facility process.
Note and report observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
Stay up to date on CNA training and follow facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Michigan.
Ability to think and work independently and with direction and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Comfortable with MS Office programs.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
