Full Job Description

Provisional appointment pending successful placement on Civil Service list.

*Civil Service Position*

Senior Account Clerk - 12 Months

Administration - Payroll

Data entry for attendance, time keeping, leaves of absence and insurance benefits.
Annual system setup and set up new items (budget codes) as needed.
Prepares reports using MS Access, Excel and Word.
Compiles, reviews and submits data to external agencies including NYS Retirement Systems.
Compiles data and prepares financial and other reports including budget/financial account analysis and audit results.
Obtains additional information from departments and individuals as necessary in the course of auditing tasks.
Supervises and compiles payroll data and prepares and checks payrolls
Able to interpret and follow collective bargaining agreements, individual contracts and other contracts or agreements with respect to processing payroll and benefits.
Audits time sheets and other payroll records to insure conformance with contracts or other financial information.
Conducts the auditing process for implementing collective bargaining agreements, individual contracts and other contracts or agreements.
Extremely accurate and detail oriented.
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations.
Other duties as described by Chautauqua County Civil Service job description.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Open Competitive - Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either:

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) year college or business school with an Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field and one (1) year of clerical experience in the maintenance and checking of financial accounts and records; OR

Three (3) years of experience as listed in "A" above.
