Overview

Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization’s financial health and integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions with precision and professionalism. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in corporate, governmental, and public accounting practices while working with cutting-edge financial software systems.

Duties

Prepare, review, and record journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using software such as Paychex, ADP, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
Perform month-end closing procedures, including ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Utilize accounting systems like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Workday for data entry, financial reporting, and system updates.
Assist with budgeting, credit analysis, and financial data analysis through Excel data analysis techniques.
Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and governmental accounting standards where applicable.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
Proficiency in using financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with GAAP standards as well as governmental or public sector accounting practices preferred.
Strong skills in spreadsheets and Excel data analysis for detailed account analysis and report generation.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion while demonstrating high numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Experience with payroll systems like Kronos or UltiPro is a plus; familiarity with timekeeping systems such as Kronos is advantageous.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance accurately.
Strong communication skills combined with customer service orientation for collaborating across departments effectively.
