Full Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented accounting clerk to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, preparing customer invoices, posting payments, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure billing and payment activity is completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

· Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, code expenses, and prepare payments according to company procedures.

· Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor payment questions.

· Prepare and send customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

· Post customer payments and monitor accounts receivable balances.

· Follow up on past-due balances and assist with collection efforts when needed.

· Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account questions.

· Maintain accurate accounting records, files, and supporting documentation.

· Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members.

· Support general office and accounting department tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

· Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, bookkeeping, or related accounting support preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and data entry.

· Basic understanding of accounting principles and invoice/payment processing.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.

· Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a busy office environment.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
