Rock Supremacy contracts for some of the largest private firms in the US. Including BNSF Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, Idaho Power Co., Amazon and many more. We also provide our services to FHWA, ODOT, WSDOT, and other public municipalities and agencies.
Rock Supremacy specializes in above ground rock stabilization which includes, rockfall mitigations systems, attenuator/rockfall barriers, rock scaling, rock dowels and boulder busting. We also perform underground rock stabilization for mines and tunnels which include rock bolting, steel set erection, tunnel notching and shotcrete just to name a few. RS also performs slope stabilization services that include micro-piles, soldier pile walls, reaction blocks, soil nail walls, horizontal drains, large tiebacks, and sculpted/stained shotcrete.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller specializing in construction to join our finance team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial management of construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accurate financial reporting. This position requires a proactive approach to financial analysis, cash management, and account reconciliation within a dynamic construction environment.
Duties
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation and balance sheet review.
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other regulatory reporting standards specific to the construction industry.
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting activities for ongoing projects.
- Supervise and support accounting staff in daily operations utilizing accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other relevant financial management tools.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Develop and implement process improvements for financial operations within the construction division.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Strong expertise in financial report writing, account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms; advanced skills in financial software management.
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting, financial management, technical accounting practices, payroll processing, and account reconciliation.
- Strong analytical skills combined with high attention to detail; capable of working independently or leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across departments.
