Applications are invited for consideration for appointment to the following position:

Department: Admission - Undergraduate

Budget Title: Admissions Advisor

Local Title: First-Year Admission Advisor

Posting Date: June 16, 2026

Classification: SL-3

Duties: The Office of Undergraduate Admission at the State University of New York at New Paltz seeks candidates for the position of First-Year Admission Advisor who will report to the Director of Undergraduate Admission.

Responsibilities of the position include:

Recruitment Travel – travel will include but not be limited to New York City (Queens, Bronx, New York, Kings, and Richmond Counties)
Application Reading and decision making
College transcript, AP and IB credit evaluations
High School Transcript finalizations
General Information Session Presentations
Communicate with prospective students and their families
Participate in Undergraduate Admission events – i.e. Open House and Accepted Student’s Days, Weekend General Information Sessions
General office duties

Qualifications: Required:

Bachelor’s degree
Ability to work evenings and some weekends
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:

Master’s Degree preferred.
1-2 years of applicable job experience in university admissions
