Full Job Description

Bounds Law Group is a boutique medical malpractice and healthcare litigation firm located in Maitland, Florida. Since 2011, our firm has focused on providing highly individualized service to clients in complex medical malpractice, nursing home, rehabilitation facility, and assisted living facility cases. We maintain a selective caseload so our team can give each matter the attention, accuracy, and care it deserves.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our firm’s day-to-day accounting, case cost tracking, vendor payments, settlement documentation, and month-end/year-end close processes. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, is comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and Excel, and takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.

What You’ll Do

· Assist with month-end and year-end close, including cash-basis reporting and closed case write-offs.

· Receive, verify, and enter vendor invoices into accounting and case management systems.

· Prepare and process weekly check runs for operating expenses and case costs.

· Process American Express credit card transactions and maintain accurate supporting records.

· Prepare closing statements for case settlements and cost reports for mediations, lien negotiations, and related matters.

· Prepare correspondence for trust checks when cases are disbursed.

· Maintain client settlement-related files and documentation.

· Process annual 1099s and assist with the firm’s tax package for the CPA.

· Download and prepare month-end reports for internal meetings.

What We’re Looking For

· At least five years of bookkeeping experience.

· Strong QuickBooks Online experience required.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

· Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to handle confidential financial and client-related information with professionalism.

· Legal industry experience preferred.

· Experience with Filevine or other legal case management software is a plus, but not required.

· Comfort using AI tools or technology to improve efficiency is a plus.
