Full Job Description

We are seeking an Art Separator to join our screen printing team. As one of our in-house Art Separator, your primary responsibilities will be to create new art designs and color separations for apparel production while working in collaboration with the development teams and customers to reach final print approvals. The ability to navigate in a fast paced environment where detail orientation and prioritization is essential will be the key to your success. This position will report directly to the Production Director while working in partnership with other production managers, customers, and various team members.

Essential Functions

Creation of new art and color separations for apparel designs
Reviews and approves sample designs, artwork, separation, and prints
Prepares matrices for customers that identify sizing and layout, pantone colors, specialty inks, trim, and other elements specific to design
Participates in the revision and approval process with both the sample and production teams until design is finalized to customer satisfaction
Meets with customers to discuss requirements and the design for projects
Establishes timeline for projects and ensures deadlines are met
Working in collaboration with in-house account managers throughout design process
Garment design entry
Garment management including but limited to, inputting pantone information, adding approved matrices, and finalizing design approval in system
Printing, organizing, and adjusting matrices within Adobe Illustrator
Update art, sizing or placement, pantone information on matrices after sample approval
Resolve matrix inquiries for approved on press designs for production
Ability to output screen film and experience in sending digital files to Direct to Screen (DTS) system is a plus

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant art process and separation experience for textile screen printing
3+ year of supervisory experience strongly preferred

Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of Adobe CS (Illustrator and Photoshop)
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Extensive knowledge of screen printing separation techniques including Full Color, Process Color, Simulated Processes, etc.
General knowledge of specialty inks and print techniques such as puff ink, high density, digital and water-base printing
Knowledge of Impress ERP software preferred but not required
Ability to determine proper screen mesh, printing sequences, and pantone colors for art separations
Time management, prioritization, and organization skills are essential
Self-starter with the ability to follow through and work independently
Ability to multitask while upholding a focused attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain quality, professional relationships with team members, customers, and vendors both internally and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers
Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the shop
Visual acuity to inspect art work and printed goods
Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at a time
