Full Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a small team in Okemos, Michigan. This part-time opportunity offers up to 10-15 hours per week and is a contract-to-permanent position for someone who can bring structure, accuracy, and consistency to day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, maintaining organized records, and using QuickBooks to keep accounting tasks current and reliable.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily bookkeeping activities for a five-person office, ensuring financial records are complete and up to date.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and appropriate documentation.
Reconcile bank statements and review account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Maintain an orderly financial filing system and improve organization across bookkeeping documents and records.
Enter financial data into QuickBooks and keep entries aligned with established accounting practices.
Assist with organizing bookkeeping files and creating a more efficient office accounting workflow.
Prepare routine financial information and support the team with general administrative accounting tasks as needed.
Prior experience in bookkeeping within a small office or similar business environment.
Proficiency in QuickBooks with the ability to manage regular accounting entries and records.
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to bring structure to incomplete or disordered records.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data management.
Ability to work independently in a part-time role of up to 20 hours per week.
