Full Job Description

Starting salary or pay structure is based on experience - we're willing to build this dynamic role around the right candidate. There will be a base salary/hourly rate plus commission on booked and complete events.

This is not an entry level position. Previous wedding, event and outside sales experience required.

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Outside Sales, Wedding & Event Manager. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for hospitality and event planning, and be eager to deliver exceptional customer experiences from initial contact through event completion as needed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our event services team, creating memorable moments for clients while achieving sales targets.

Duties

Develop and execute strategic outside sales initiatives to attract new clients and expand market presence for wedding and event services

Build strong relationships with prospective clients through cold calling, networking, marketing campaigns, and community outreach

Conduct detailed consultations with clients to understand their event needs, budgets, and vision, providing expert guidance on venue options, catering, decor, and additional services

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service packages to maximize revenue while ensuring client satisfaction

Collaborate with internal teams on event planning logistics including venue setup, catering coordination, vendor management, and timeline development

Upsell additional services such as premium packages, enhancements, or ancillary offerings to increase revenue per booking

Oversee the entire event management process from initial booking through post-event follow-up, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences

Manage budgets for events, track expenses, and ensure profitability while maintaining high standards of service quality

Promote our brand through targeted marketing efforts including social media campaigns, promotional events, and community engagement activities

Maintain detailed records of client interactions, contracts, payments, and event details using our current CRM systems and organizational tools

Qualifications

Proven experience in outside sales within the hospitality or events industry; banquet experience or hotel/restaurant background highly preferred

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals effectively

Excellent marketing abilities with knowledge of event marketing strategies to attract new clients

Demonstrated success in upselling additional services to maximize revenue opportunities

Solid understanding of event planning processes including logistics coordination and vendor management

Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building lasting client relationships

Effective time management skills to juggle multiple clients and events simultaneously under tight deadlines

Experience managing budgets for events or catering operations; familiarity with contracts and service agreements essential

Outstanding communication skills—both verbal and written—to clearly convey ideas and negotiate terms confidently

Highly organized with keen attention to detail in all aspects of event management from planning to execution

Previous banquet, catering, restaurant or hotel experience is highly desirable; fundraising or guest services background is a plus
