Full Job Description

Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our small, dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad tax experience while working closely with clients and colleagues in a collaborative and supportive environment. As part of a 10-person firm, you’ll be integral in providing high-quality tax services and making a real impact on client outcomes. If you have 2 years of tax experience and are ready to grow in a hands-on role, this is the opportunity for you. Experience with CCH tax software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities.
Assist clients in developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and apply relevant updates to client filings.
Collaborate closely with team members and clients on tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and other business activities.
Utilize QuickBooks or similar accounting software for bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, address questions, and offer guidance on their tax situation.
Work on wills, trusts, and estate tax matters where applicable.
Participate in firm-wide projects and be proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of tax experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with CCH tax software (preferred).
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to clients.
Desire for continued learning and professional development in the tax field.
Team-oriented with a willingness to contribute to the success of the firm.
