About the Role
Edwards Federal Credit Union is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lending Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our lending department. This role is responsible for overseeing underwriting, processing, funding, title and lien perfection, and loan origination support—ensuring loans are handled accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance.
This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with the VP of Lending and collaborates cross-functionally with Branch Operations, Collections, Marketing, IT, and external vendors to drive loan growth, operational excellence, and an exceptional member experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead Lending Operations
- Oversee day-to-day lending functions including underwriting, processing, funding, and lien perfection
- Monitor and manage loan pipelines to ensure timely application movement and funding
- Assign workloads and balance team priorities based on volume and business needs
- Resolve escalated member, dealer, and operational issues
- Support loan production during peak periods as needed
Systems & Performance Management
- Serve as administrator for lending systems including MeridianLink and Origence
- Maintain workflows, reporting, and user access
- Track and analyze operational metrics, productivity, and pipeline aging
Drive Loan Growth & Sales Support
- Improve conversion of approved loans to funded loans through process and follow-up enhancements
- Coach team members to identify member needs and recommend appropriate products
- Partner with Branch Operations and Marketing on campaigns and referral strategies
Credit Administration
- Exercise loan approval authority within assigned limits
- Review complex loan scenarios, exceptions, and counteroffers
- Escalate loans outside authority appropriately
Compliance, Risk & Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to lending policies and regulatory requirements
- Monitor loan quality, documentation, and disclosures
- Support audits, quality control reviews, and corrective actions
Lead & Develop the Team
- Supervise, coach, and develop lending staff
- Set clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, service, and cross-selling
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings
- Partner with HR on training, development, and performance management
What You Bring
- Strong experience in consumer lending operations (underwriting, processing, funding, lien perfection)
- Working knowledge of home equity loans and HELOCs
- Experience with loan origination systems such as MeridianLink and Origence
- Solid understanding of lending regulations, documentation, and compliance standards
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of lending experience within a credit union, bank, or financial institution
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Experience with consumer lending required; home equity/HELOC experience preferred
- Loan approval authority experience preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, reporting, and pipeline management
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- NMLS registration may be required depending on responsibilities

Pay: $75,164.00 - $93,955.00 per year
