Full Job Description

The General Accountant will be an integral part of our small manufacturing business. This candidate will take care of general accrual accounting and finance activities. In addition, there will be the opportunity to support some general administrative duties and other tasks that may align with the individual’s skillset and availability. This is a full-time position for ON-SITE work.

Responsibilities:

- Process Accounts Payable from receipt of invoice, 3-way match, entry of invoice, through check run and mailing.
- Must understand and have worked with matching PO’s to receipts to the invoice.
- Process customer invoices and follow through with active and timely collections as needed.
- Manage cash by controlling incoming checks, deposits, cash application entry.
- Work with customer and government portals for invoicing activities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Perform general ledger accounting activities, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Help support close duties as needed.
- Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex transactions or accounting standards.

- Some payroll support and processing
- Solid understanding of business processes…i.e. how purchasing and receiving impact payables.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

- Some HR duties as requested

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (Quickbooks Desktop or JobBoss2) is a must
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting

- Strong knowledge of financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Have an understanding of how balance sheets and reconciliation processes work
- Advanced knowledge in using accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and adapt to new technologies and software.
- Analytical with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
- Extremely high standards of excellence, responsibility, and ownership.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to demonstrate complex math skills
Typically sits for sustained periods of time at a desk and/or computer
Typically requires close visual acuity involved with preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer screen and extensive reading
Occasional bending, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping
Some lifting, up to 25 pounds
Manual dexterity and repetitive movement of fingers and hands for keyboarding
Attend work regularly and on time, and complete assigned tasks
Able to receive and deliver detailed information through written and oral communications
Able to function at a high level in a fast paced work environment
