Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support a large-scale manufacturing plant construction project in Tampa, FL. These professionals will work on-site to ensure compliance with safety standards, promote a culture of safety, and mitigate risks throughout the construction process.

Consulting & Technical Expertise

Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and site-specific safety protocols.
Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
Support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
Facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions.
Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve safety concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities and reports.
Serve as a liaison between contractors, site management, and safety leadership.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP or equivalent are required.

Technical Expertise

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably on large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects.
OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification (preferred).
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Physical And Mental Job Qualifications

Most duties performed on feet.
Able to carry equipment, as much as 30lbs unassisted.
Push or pull items.
Able to reach above head
Able to work variable shifts depending on work being completed at the time.
Able to bend at the knee.
Able to climb ladders to reach high areas.
Able to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Able to squat, kneel or crouch in confined spaces when necessary.
Able to detect burning sensations on skin etc.
Vision must be correctable to at least 20:40 with ability to distinguish colors with good depth perception and peripheral vision.

Work Schedule & Commitment:

Expected schedule 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Candidate will be working night shift (9 PM to 5 AM) for at least the first six months. May extend for the duration of the project.
Contract duration: Approximately three years.
On-site presence required in Tampa, Florida.

Base Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
