Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our Village Early Learning Center team. In this vital role, you will serve as a guiding force in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. Your leadership will inspire both staff and students, ensuring that every child receives high-quality early childhood education that promotes their development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the early learning experiences of children while fostering a collaborative and vibrant classroom community.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles.
Oversee classroom management to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and exploration.
Mentor and support teaching staff by providing guidance on lesson planning, behavior management, classroom organization, and child welfare best practices.
Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, address individual needs—including special education and early intervention—and foster strong home-school partnerships.
Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly.
Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards related to childcare and preschool education.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, curriculum development, and innovative teaching strategies.

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, special education practices, early intervention strategies, and literacy education.
Experience with Montessori methods or other specialized educational approaches is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, families, and community partners.
Ability to lead a team of educators while maintaining a positive and energetic classroom atmosphere.
Formal qualifications in early childhood education or a related field; additional certifications in special education or child welfare are advantageous.
