Full Job Description

The primary duty of the Controller is to review existing accounting and financial controls and other mechanisms, rules, and procedures implemented by the company to ensure the integrity of financial and accounting information, promote accountability, and prevent fraud.

Essential Job Function:

Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Complies with laws and regulations, and preventing employees from stealing assets or committing fraud
Implement and launch an ERP accounting software for book consolidation.
Improve operational efficiency by improving the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Standardizing documents used for financial transactions, such as invoices, internal materials requests, inventory receipts and travel expense report.
Occasional accounting reconciliations to ensure that balances in the accounting system match up with balances in accounts held by other entities, including banks, suppliers and credit customers.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
Review organizational performance (such as a budget-to-actual comparison to look for any unexpected differences).
Physical inventories (such as a cash or inventory count).
Prevent fraud.
Control risk.
Proactively identify financial issues.
Protect resources (both tangible and intangible) from theft and waste.
Operate efficiently.
Generate timely, reliable reporting.
Measure progress towards business objectives and goals.
Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Secure outside funding.
Reassure investors.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Assist with preparation for year-end review/audit
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
Attend weekly financial meetings/calls.
Timely response, communication, and follow-up on emails received, tasks assigned, projects, etc.
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Familiar with retail
Education preferred – Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or at minimum education through an intermediate accounting level
Familiarity with GAAP
Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred
Proficiency in Excel
Works well on a team

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent management and supervisory skills.
QuickBooks online experience.
Ability to multi-task and establish priority of work.
Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to understand items or activities that require timely follow-up and communication.
Must have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels at the site

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
