Full Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and self-motivated Medical Receptionist with prior front desk experience in a medical office setting. This key team member will be responsible for answering and directing phone calls, scheduling appointments, collecting copays and outstanding balances, and processing referrals from external providers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong customer service skills are essential, as this role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
Schedule appointments and reschedule missed/no show appointments
Document patient demographics and insurance information into electronic chart
Verify eligibility and insurance coverage prior to appointment
Answer and screens telephone calls and voicemails
Collect patient co-pays and deductibles at time of visit
Answer patient questions and provide assistance as necessary

Qualifications

Prior Front Office experience in a multi-physician/provider office a plus
Excellent customer service and organizational skills required
Recent experience working with electronic medical records is required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA rules and office policy.
Must have a positive attitude, with professional ethics, appearance and conduct.
