Position Overview
Rose Hill Kitchen & Bath LLC is seeking a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented General Remodeling Carpenter to join our team. We specialize in high-quality residential kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home remodeling projects throughout Northwest Connecticut and the surrounding area.
The ideal candidate will have broad residential remodeling experience, take pride in producing quality work, and be comfortable completing a variety of carpentry and construction tasks. This position requires someone who can work independently when necessary, collaborate effectively with other employees and subcontractors, and maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform residential framing, finish carpentry, and general remodeling work.
- Install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, trim, doors, windows, hardware, shelving, and other finish components.
- Complete demolition, jobsite preparation, and protection of existing finishes.
- Frame walls, partitions, soffits, ceilings, door openings, and other structural or nonstructural components.
- Install interior and exterior doors, windows, baseboard, casing, crown molding, and other millwork.
- Perform drywall installation, patching, and finishing as needed.
- Complete minor flooring, siding, decking, and exterior repair work when required.
- Assist with countertop, appliance, plumbing fixture, and accessory installations.
- Read and follow plans, drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Accurately measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and install materials.
- Identify jobsite conditions or potential problems and communicate them promptly to the project manager.
- Coordinate respectfully and efficiently with homeowners, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.
- Protect clients’ homes, furnishings, and existing finishes from damage, dust, and construction debris.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport tools and materials.
- Follow company procedures, building codes, manufacturer instructions, and applicable safety requirements.
- Complete additional remodeling and construction-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, construction, or a related trade.
- Working knowledge of common residential construction methods, materials, tools, and terminology.
- Ability to perform both rough and finish carpentry accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction-related calculations.
- Ability to understand plans, drawings, layouts, and written instructions.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in a subcontract role for other area builders and developers.
- Must be adaptable, easy going, and not easily offended to be a good fit in our company culture.
- Professional, dependable, punctual, and respectful demeanor.
- Willingness to perform a wide variety of tasks and adapt to changing project conditions.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must have basic personal hand tools. Specialty and larger tools may be provided as appropriate.
- Ability to pass any required employment screening.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Regularly lift and carry construction materials, tools, cabinets, and equipment.
- Safely lift approximately 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier items.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Safely use ladders, scaffolding, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Work in occupied homes, active construction sites, unfinished spaces, and varying weather conditions.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is beneficial:
- Kitchen and bathroom remodeling
- Cabinet and vanity installation
- Finish carpentry and custom trim
- Residential framing
- Door and window installation
- Drywall installation and repair
- Flooring installation
- Punch-list work and final project detailing

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
