This is a senior leadership role for an individual with extensive hands-on experience working on 2-stroke slow-speed (MC/ME) and medium-speed 4-stroke engines. The ideal candidate is a technical expert with experience servicing diesel, natural gas, dual-fuel, ammonia, LPG, hydrogen-blend, and other emerging fuel technologies, who can lead projects from mobilization through completion while mentoring field personnel, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhauls, commissioning, and field service activities on large-bore 2-stroke slow-speed (MC/ME) and medium-speed 4-stroke engines and their auxiliary systems in marine propulsion and power generation applications.
- Perform advanced fault-finding and diagnostics on engine control systems and auxiliary equipment, including fuel systems and filtration, natural gas systems, lubrication systems, heat exchangers, HT/LT cooling systems, turbochargers, oily mist detection, emissions control and monitoring, charge air coolers, starting air systems, and engine automation and controls.
- Perform precision measurements and ensure all work is completed within OEM specifications using manufacturer-supplied tooling and standard service equipment.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop Service Engineers and Technicians by assigning work, providing technical guidance, reviewing performance, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary technical representative on-site by communicating technical findings, managing customer expectations, resolving field issues, coordinating change requests, and removing project obstacles to ensure successful execution.
- Ensure all required administrative documentation is completed accurately and on time, including timecards, labor tracking, customer sign-offs, technical service reports, expense documentation, and supporting paperwork required for accurate invoicing and project closeout.
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely technical service reports documenting work performed, inspection findings, recommendations, and project status.
- Ensure full compliance with company and customer safety policies by identifying hazards, promoting proper PPE usage, exercising Stop Work Authority when necessary, reporting incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and sharing safety best practices.
- Conduct or oversee rigging and slinging operations, basic machining activities, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), as required.
- Coordinate project logistics, including tools, equipment, materials, travel arrangements, and job-related expenses to support efficient project execution.
- Travel extensively throughout the United States and internationally on short notice to support customer projects while maintaining flexibility and professionalism.
- Support business development by identifying customer opportunities, providing technical expertise during project planning, and strengthening long-term customer relations
Qualifications
