Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and guiding male and female adolescence in various settings, such as fostering youth to reunite with parents, equipping them with independent social skills for emancipation or helping with school work and managing emotions. This position requires a strong commitment to resident rights, behavior management, social skills, problem solviing and medication administration while fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere for all residents.

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to youth residents in daily activities and personal care.
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Advocate for resident rights, promoting dignity and respect in all interactions.
Implement behavior management strategies to support positive outcomes for residents.
help create recreational activities that engage residents and enhance their quality of life.
Drive residents to appointments, visitation both in and out of town or community activities as needed.
Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, time manadCollaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in resident behavior or condition.

Requirements

Previous experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, retirement homes, or assisted living facilities is preferred.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and resident rights is essential.
Experience in memory care or direct support roles is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth and their families effectively.
Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.
A valid driver’s license is required for transporting residents when necessary.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
