Sales professional – Base Salary plus commission (Insurance sales) | Allstate Agency

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Compensation: $50,000 – $120,000+ per year. $45000 base salary plus commission. First year on target earnings $60000-$75000. Top producers: $100000 plus

Most sales jobs promise unlimited earnings and deliver a low base, little training, and a phone book. This isn't that.

We are a top-performing, locally owned Allstate Agency in Lincoln looking for one person who wants to learn this business from the ground up and build a six-figure career. We pay a real base salary, we pay for your licensing, and we teach you how to sell from people who actually do it.

Our agency combines Allstate’s trusted brand with select brokerage options-meaning you're not handcuffed to one carrier when a client needs something specific. You actually get to solve problems, not just push product.

Insurance is contract law applied to real life. Every policy you sell is a legal agreement between the carrier and the client-governed by principles like offer and acceptance, representations and warranties, insurable interest and the duty of good faith.

After we train you, your job will be to understand those contracts well enough to explain them in plain English to a family sitting at their kitchen table or by phone. No smoke and mirrors. Just clarity.

If the idea of learning how contracts work and translating legal concepts into everyday language sounds interesting rather than intimidating, you're probably our kind of person. If you're just looking for a sales job where you read from a script, this isn't it.

What You’ll Do

Talk to people. A lot. Some leads are provided; the best producers also generate their own referrals
Ask questions, listen, and figure out what coverage someone actually needs, not just what is easiest to sell.
Explain policies clearly enough that a client can make an informed decision without feeling pressured.
Follow up consistently. Most sales are lost in the gap between "I'll think about it" and silence.
Cross sell insurance where it makes sense. We track retention, not just new business.
Show up on time, own your numbers, and improve every month

Take initiative and consistently follow up with prospects

Who we are looking for

We care less about your résumé and more about whether you can do the work. If you've held a job where you had to show up, deal with people, and perform under pressure — retail, restaurant management, inside sales, customer service, the trades — you probably have the foundation.

Here's what's non-negotiable:

You're coachable. You can take direct feedback without getting defensive. If being told you're doing something wrong makes you shut down, this won't work.
You have a reason. Something in your life — debt, family, ambition, sheer frustration with where you are — is pushing you to earn more than you're making now.
You can think in terms of contracts and legal concepts, or you're willing to learn. (We train you. But you have to want to learn it.)
You're willing to get licensed. We pay for the coursework and exam fees. Property & Casualty required; Life & Health is a plus.
You can pass a background check.

Preferred but not required: active P&C or Life & Health license, associate's degree or higher, prior sales experience.
