Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department across multiple functional areas.

This position is responsible for administering HR programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, supporting employee relations, coordinating onboarding and benefits, assisting with payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and helping cultivate a positive employee experience.

The ideal candidate enjoys partnering with leaders, building relationships throughout the organization, and finding practical solutions that support both employees and the business.

What You'll Do

Employee Relations & HR Partnership

Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace questions.
Build positive relationships throughout the organization while promoting an engaging, respectful, and collaborative workplace.
Partner with managers to resolve employee concerns and provide guidance on performance, attendance, coaching, and documentation.
Conduct employee investigations while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.

Onboarding & Employee Experience

Coordinate all onboarding activities for new hires and returning employees.
Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a welcoming employee experience.
Partner with hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
Support employee engagement initiatives, appreciation programs, and company events.

Benefits & HR Administration

Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and questions.
Support annual Open Enrollment activities.
Maintain confidential personnel files and HR documentation.
Assist with HRIS maintenance and employee record management.
Support payroll preparation and coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Assist with workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, ADA accommodations, FMLA, and leave administration.
Maintain required HR documentation and employment records.
Support policy creation, updates, and communication throughout the organization.

Performance Management & Talent Development

Coordinate annual and ongoing performance review processes.
Partner with leaders to support employee coaching and development.
Assist with training initiatives for employees and supervisors.
Track compliance training and development activities.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics.
Monitor turnover, retention, hiring trends, and other key HR indicators.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
Participate in HR projects that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2-5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
Experience supporting multiple HR functions in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment preferred.
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Experience with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Payroll and benefits administration experience preferred.
