Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. This position is responsible for assessing patients, preparing them for procedures, monitoring patients during recovery, educating patients and families, and ensuring compliance with infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards. The Endoscopy RN collaborates closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, medical assistants, and front office staff to deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-procedure patient assessments and prepare patients for GI procedures.
Monitor patients during procedures and throughout recovery.
Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGDs), flexible sigmoidoscopies, and capsule endoscopies.
Administer medications and monitor patients in accordance with physician orders and clinic protocols.
Provide patient education before and after procedures.
Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Document assessments, medications, procedures, and patient education accurately within the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, CRNAs/anesthesia providers, medical assistants, and other clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
Maintain infection prevention standards and ensure patient safety throughout every stage of care.

Qualifications

Required

Current Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current BLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification
Minimum one (1) year of RN experience

Preferred

Previous experience in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, PACU, Surgery, ICU, or Emergency Department
Experience administering and monitoring patients receiving conscious (moderate) sedation
Experience working in an outpatient surgical or procedural setting
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

This position provides care at both our Little Rock and Searcy clinic locations.

Reliable transportation is required.
Travel between clinic locations is expected based on staffing needs.
Employees receive a $25 travel stipend for each day travel between clinic locations is required.

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
