Full Job Description

Essential Job Responsibilities

The Tool & Die / Machining Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the department. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality performance while actively engaging, coaching, and developing team members. The Supervisor plays a key role in executing departmental priorities by collaborating to implement strategies, standard processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead daily tool room operations to ensure timely support of production, including tooling readiness, maintenance, and issue resolution.
Supervise, coach, and develop machinists and toolmakers by providing ongoing feedback, training, and growth opportunities to strengthen technical capability, engagement, and career progression.
Collaborate with internal partners to implement aligned processes and strategies.
Adjust staffing, workflow, and priorities to maintain efficiency.
Communicate performance, issues, and improvement actions.
Support continuous improvement and root cause problem-solving.
Enforce safety, quality, and standard work practices.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience over a Tool & Die / Machining team.
Background and technical knowledge in area of responsibilities (i.e. metal manufacturing.)
Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership and team development skills.
Solid knowledge of machining and tool & die processes.
Ability to manage daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Strong communication, including cross-functional collaboration.
Understanding of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to perform excessive walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
Ability to run machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
