Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly by performing comprehensive mechanical repairs, troubleshooting complex systems, and conducting preventative maintenance on a wide range of machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment and showcase your mechanical prowess in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to maximize vehicle uptime.
Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
Troubleshoot complex vehicle systems by interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams; repair automotive electrical systems including sensors, wiring harnesses, and control modules.
Perform heavy lifting and manual labor during equipment assembly, disassembly, or replacement projects while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.

Skills

Hands-on experience with heavy trucks and trailers.
Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems.
Expertise in automotive diagnostics with the ability to identify issues quickly using modern diagnostic tools.
Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems for vehicles and heavy machinery.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment and performing welding tasks safely.
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining a focus on safety standards at all times.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members about repairs or maintenance needs.
