Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the nutritional and food service operations within a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in dietary management, including clinical nutrition, food safety, and team leadership. As a CDM, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents' needs while maintaining compliance with health regulations and managing departmental budgets. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing resident well-being and supporting the overall quality of care provided.

Duties

Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles, including specialized diets such as tube feeding and diagnostic evaluation requirements.
Supervise and manage food service teams, ensuring efficient food production, proper food safety management, and adherence to health regulation policies.
Conduct patient assessments to determine individual dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions, including assisted living considerations.
Oversee food service health code compliance, ensuring all operations meet local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage departmental budgeting, inventory control, and food cost analysis to optimize resource utilization without compromising quality.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals for diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning related to nutrition and physiology considerations.
Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for documenting care plans, dietary adjustments, and patient progress updates.
Lead food safety management initiatives to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation within the facility’s kitchen environment.
Provide health coaching to residents and staff on nutrition-related topics to promote healthier lifestyles and improved outcomes.
Manage food production processes ensuring nutritious meal delivery that aligns with clinical nutrition guidelines for acute care settings.

Experience

Proven experience in dietary management within skilled nursing or assisted living facilities with a focus on clinical nutrition and patient assessment.
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing food service teams, supervising staff, and overseeing dietary departments effectively.
Extensive knowledge of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and safety standards.
Experience with budget management, inventory control, and food cost analysis in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation of care plans and nutritional assessments.
Background in managing specialized diets such as tube feeding or other therapeutic nutritional interventions.
Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to nutrition needs in acute care environments.
Prior experience in food safety management, food production processes, and dietetics is highly desirable.
