Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Assistant to support our healthcare team by managing patient records and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of medical information. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. This role is vital in maintaining efficient patient documentation processes, facilitating seamless communication within the healthcare environment, and upholding compliance with privacy regulations.

Duties

Accurately organize, file, and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established protocols and privacy standards.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to input, update, and retrieve patient information efficiently.
Verify the completeness and accuracy of medical records, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
Assist healthcare providers with accessing and managing patient records for appointments, referrals, and billing purposes.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to medical records confidentiality and security.
Respond to internal requests for medical record information promptly while maintaining data integrity.
Support the transition to new EHR systems through data entry, troubleshooting, and user support as needed.

Requirements

Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical record management software.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and organize clinical documentation.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
