Job Overview

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Machinist Trainee. This entry-level role offers a dynamic environment where you will develop essential skills in precision machining, CNC programming, and manufacturing processes. As a Machinist Trainee, you will receive comprehensive training to operate various machining tools and equipment, interpret mechanical blueprints, and contribute to high-quality production standards. This paid position provides a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in the manufacturing industry while gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading technology.

Duties

Assist experienced machinists in setting up and operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment
Learn to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining operations
Participate in machine setup procedures, including tooling selection and calibration for metal machining tasks
Gain exposure to manual machining techniques using hand tools, grinders, and other manual equipment
Develop skills in CNC G-code programming, M-code commands, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software for manufacturing processes
Assist with quality control inspections to verify parts meet specifications using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
Support the maintenance of machining tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance

Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and understanding machining specifications
Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
Knowledge of CNC machining concepts including CNC lathe, milling operations.
Experience with Prototrak Lathe and Mill a plus.
Experience or familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is a plus
Ability to operate manual hand tools, power tools, grinders, and tooling equipment safely and effectively
Mechanical knowledge related to machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance
