Maintenance Technician – Multi-Trade
Duke City Lift & Fix LLCAlbuquerque, NM & Surrounding AreasPay: $25–$40/hour + Flat-Rate Project Opportunities
About the Position
Duke City Lift & Fix LLC is looking for a skilled and dependable Multi-Trade Maintenance Technician to join our growing operation.
We handle a wide variety of residential and commercial maintenance, repair, installation, and improvement projects. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working across multiple trades and can walk into a job, assess the situation, determine what needs to be done, and complete quality work without needing constant supervision.
This is not a single-trade maintenance position. The work changes regularly. One day may involve drywall and painting, another may involve replacing fixtures, assembling equipment, repairing a commercial property, completing landscaping work, or troubleshooting an unexpected maintenance issue.
If you’re the type of person who is good with your hands, knows how buildings and equipment go together, and can figure things out when something isn’t working correctly, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Projects may include:
- General residential and commercial maintenance
- Property repairs and preventative maintenance
- Drywall installation, patching, texture, and repair
- Interior and exterior painting
- Electrical fixtures, ceiling fans, lighting, switches, outlets, and related work within applicable licensing requirements
- Basic plumbing and fixture repairs
- Door installation and adjustment
- Trim, fascia, cabinet, and wood repairs
- Furniture and equipment assembly
- Shelving, TV, cabinet, and wall-mounted installations
- Landscaping and exterior property maintenance
- Rock, gravel, cleanup, and light grading
- Fence and gate repairs
- Light demolition and removal
- Commercial facility repairs
- Punch-list and turnover work
- Troubleshooting miscellaneous maintenance problems
- Material pickup and jobsite preparation
- Other repair, maintenance, and improvement projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a well-rounded problem solver rather than someone who only knows one specific type of work.
The ideal candidate has real hands-on experience in several areas of maintenance, construction, remodeling, facilities work, or the trades.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on maintenance, construction, remodeling, handyman, facilities, or trade experience preferred
- Experience across multiple trades
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble, install, and repair
- Ability to identify when a repair is outside your experience or requires a licensed trade
- Professional communication with customers and property managers
- Reliable and punctual
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Own basic hand tools preferred
- Ability to safely lift and move materials and equipment commonly associated with maintenance and construction work
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional jobsite
Trade Licenses & Certifications
Trade licenses and professional certifications are strongly valued and can qualify candidates for higher pay.
Candidates with applicable experience, licensing, or certifications in areas such as:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Carpentry/construction
- Facilities maintenance
- Equipment operation
- Other skilled trades
are strongly encouraged to apply.
Licensing is not required for the general Maintenance Technician position.
However, technicians who bring licensed trade capabilities, advanced technical skills, or the ability to independently handle more complex projects will generally be considered toward the higher end of the $25–$40/hour pay range.
Compensation
$25–$40 per hour, depending on experience, demonstrated skill level, licensing/certifications, reliability, efficiency, and ability to work independently.
Starting pay will be based on what you can confidently and safely handle in the field.
Flat-Rate Projects
Some jobs may be offered as flat-rate projects instead of hourly work.
The project scope and flat-rate compensation will be discussed and agreed upon before work begins.
Flat-rate opportunities can allow experienced and efficient technicians to earn more based on their ability to complete projects correctly and efficiently.
What We Value
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in their workmanship
- Shows up when they say they will
- Communicates clearly
- Treats customers and their property professionally
- Doesn’t cut corners
- Keeps their work area clean and organized
- Can work without being constantly supervised
- Can troubleshoot and find practical solutions
- Knows when to ask questions
- Can adapt to different types of projects
- Wants to continue developing their skills
- Is interested in taking on more responsibility as the company grows
Work Environment
Our work includes both residential and commercial properties throughout Albuquerque and surrounding areas.
This is a field-based position, not a position where you report to the same property every day.
You should be comfortable traveling between jobsites and working in different environments depending on the project.
Work may be indoors or outdoors and can include ladders, lifting, construction environments, landscaping, commercial facilities, occupied homes, and active jobsites.
Schedule
Hours may vary depending on current projects and customer scheduling.
Some weeks may involve larger multi-day projects, while others may include several smaller service calls and maintenance jobs.
There may also be opportunities for additional flat-rate projects depending on your experience and availability.
Growth Opportunities
We’re looking for more than someone to simply fill a position.
As Duke City Lift & Fix grows, reliable technicians who demonstrate strong workmanship and the ability to manage projects independently may have opportunities to take on:
- Higher-paying projects
- Flat-rate work
- More complex jobs
- Lead responsibilities
- Increased independence in the field
- Additional responsibility within the company
