CNC Machinist
Tesseract Fab, LLC – Fayetteville

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$30.00; based on experience, skill level, and productivity (DOE)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00AM – 2:30PM (with overtime available as needed)

Our facility features advanced CNC technology including mill-turn lathes, 3-axis, 4-axis, and full 5-axis machining centers, allowing us to produce tight-tolerance components and complex parts with exceptional quality.

Position Summary

Tesseract Fab is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machinery to manufacture precision parts that meet exact customer specifications. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced with complex multi-axis machining.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate mill-turn CNC lathes and 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers
Load programs, install tooling, set work/tool offsets, and verify machine readiness
Perform first-article inspections and validate dimensions before production runs
Monitor production cycles and make adjustments for tool wear, offsets, and process consistency
Machine parts to tight tolerances while maintaining production efficiency
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate with supervisors or programmers as needed
Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and waste reduction

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of recent CNC machining experience strongly preferred
Experience with mill-turn equipment or multi-axis machining centers highly preferred
Familiarity with Fanuc controls and CAM software such as Mastercam or similar platforms
Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling selection, speeds/feeds, and machining practices
Ability to read precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Trade school certification, machinist training, or apprenticeship is a plus
