Full Job Description

Overview:

The purpose of the enrollment team at Derryfield is to advance the mission of the school by

1.) actively marketing our program to families of bright, motivated students,

2.) selecting for admission students who will benefit from and contribute to our school’s many programs, and

3.) working to address the needs of current families in an effort to retain excellent mission-appropriate students.

While short-term objectives may vary from year-to-year, the ultimate goal for every enrollment professional is to fulfill the school’s mission of enrolling the most suitable student body possible, including a commitment to utilizing best practices for equity and inclusion. This role reports to the Director of Enrollment Management.

The responsibilities of the Admission Office Coordinator include:

Acting as an outstanding first point of contact in all facets of admission:
Fulfilling a primary role in representing Derryfield at events and school fairs throughout the year
Responding promptly and positively to all online, telephone, and email inquiries
Greeting visitors and facilitating their visits in a friendly and welcoming manner
Working closely with parent volunteers for admission outreach
Providing sophisticated and efficient understanding of technology and systems:
Utilizing our Finalsite software and database to its fullest potential
Supporting the team with systems, operations, and technical knowledge, implementing efficiencies for data processes, and keeping the work of the team progressing smoothly
Compiling weekly, monthly and annual statistical data, as well as any special data requests
Coordinating vital structures for the Admission Office:
Processing all inquiries, applications and supplemental materials
Maintaining the admission calendar and scheduling interviews and visit days
Coordinating all admission mailings and emailings
Maintaining an inventory of marketing and office supplies
Compiling and managing the information flow for new student enrollment
Supporting the Director of Enrollment Management, Admission Team, and Derryfield school community in a variety of tasks and projects
As a member of the admission team, the Admission Office Coordinator supports and participates in all admission related programs and activities as needed.
As a representative of The Derryfield School, the Admission Office Coordinator exhibits a high degree of professional and personal integrity with all school programs and policies and maintains confidentiality with family information.

Skills:

The ideal candidate for this position possesses at least three years of experience in this manner of work.
Highly desirable qualities include positive energy and enthusiasm for the work and people, the ability to nimbly and successfully multitask, strong organization and attention to detail, solution-oriented thinking and problem-solving skills, a growth mindset, excellent collaborative skills, a welcoming and friendly demeanor for guests and colleagues, and respect for and appreciation of young people.
