Full Job Description

Pediatric Occupational Therapist / Occupational Therapy Assistant

Crane Rehab Center is currently seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team. This position may be full-time or part-time.

You will work within a multidisciplinary pediatric outpatient setting, collaborating closely with BCBAs, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Behavior Technicians to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a supportive and secure environment.

Job Summary

The Licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct occupational therapy services to a diverse pediatric population in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and Crane Rehab Center, LLC policies and standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree program in Occupational Therapy or

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an Associate’s degree

Current Louisiana OT or OTA license in good standing (must be maintained throughout employment)
CPR certification required upon hire or obtained during orientation (must remain current)
Two to three years of experience preferred
Experience in a pediatric outpatient setting strongly preferred
Experience working with children with Autism and other developmental diagnoses preferred
Specialized training or experience in sensory integration and feeding therapy is strongly encouraged
Ability to work flexible hours, including late afternoons

Specific Job Requirements

Provide therapy services within an outpatient clinical environment
Participate in community health matters and projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and therapy documentation software
Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Maintain proper body mechanics at all times
Demonstrate independent decision-making when circumstances warrant
Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and clinical guidelines
Implement departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
Perform competently in all required areas, including:
Patient care
Documentation and therapy software
Patient rights
Safety and sanitation
Maintain professional working relationships with staff, vendors, and partners
Protect confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
Adhere to company policies, including harassment prevention and compliance procedures
Display integrity and professionalism and complete all required compliance training

Essential Functions

Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, functional treatment goals
Oversee and evaluate patient care
Follow occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an OT (for OTA roles) and in compliance with federal and state guidelines
Complete accurate and timely documentation
Utilize therapy software appropriately and efficiently
Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive, professional demeanor
Assist with patient evacuation when necessary
Maintain dependable and regular attendance
Use sound judgment, reasoning, and concentration skills
Communicate and function productively within an interdisciplinary team
Perform physical activities including sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
Read, write, speak, and understand English

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Pediatric outpatient clinic setting
Frequent use of fine motor skills (e.g., keyboarding and equipment operation)
Physical effort required for handling objects up to 40 pounds
Rare exposure to occupational risks (cuts, burns, etc.)
Rare exposure to environmental factors such as chemicals, odors, noise, or weather extremes
Requires close and distance vision
Frequent standing and walking; rare stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Noise levels are typically high, consistent with a pediatric clinical environment
