Job Overview
The Contract Operations Manager is responsible for the daily oversight, coordination, and execution of Marca Industries’ ODOT rest area contracts. Our rest areas are located in Marion, Marysville, and Ashland. This role ensures that all assigned sites are consistently maintained to quality standards, properly staffed, and operating efficiently.
This is a working manager role that balances hands-on operational support with staff supervision, scheduling, and accountability. The Contract Operations Manager plays a critical role in maintaining contract compliance, supporting staff performance, and ensuring each location is clean, safe, and fully operational.
This position supports the Director of Contract Operations by strengthening day-to-day execution, improving consistency across sites, and ensuring teams have the tools, direction, and structure needed to succeed.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations of assigned ODOT rest area locations to ensure cleanliness, safety, and contract compliance
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently met
- Identify and address operational issues quickly to prevent service disruptions
- Supervise and provide daily direction to Contract Services staff including providing coaching, feedback, and performance management, including corrective action when needed
- Reinforce expectations related to attendance, quality of work, and professionalism
- Participate in hiring efforts as part of the leadership team
- Ensure staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their roles
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all assigned sites
- Adjust staffing plans based on operational needs, call-offs, and contract requirements
- Coordinate shift coverage and communicate changes clearly to staff
- Support consistency in staffing practices across locations
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies to ensure all locations are adequately stocked
- Ensure all equipment is functional, maintained, and repaired as needed and coordinate repairs or replacements in collaboration with leadership
- Step into frontline roles during staffing shortages or high-demand periods
Requirements
- Driver's license and reliable transportation
- Requires regular travel between assigned contract sites
- Must have reliable phone access to receive and respond to work-related communications
- Work performed in indoor and outdoor environments
- May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holiday work depending on site needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in operations, facilities, custodial, or contract-based environments
- Experience supervising, management, or leading staff preferred
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and supply management
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Hands-on leader who leads by example
- Clear and direct communicator
- Reliable and consistent in follow-through
- Able to balance structure with flexibility in a fast-moving environment
- Experience supervising or leading staff preferred
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Ability to manage multiple locations or priorities simultaneously

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
