Job Summary
This position is responsible for designing and implementing integration solutions between Epic and other systems. The Laboratory Analyst will be involved in the full life cycle of interface development including requirements gathering, build, test, go-live and production support. The Laboratory Analyst will be required to utilize strong technical skills and business understanding to solve issues related to the health system interface(s).

2. Essential Physical and Cognitive Demands, Manual Dexterity: Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Has physical and functional ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting to accomplish tasks. Hand dexterity to use office equipment, personal computers, fax machines, calculators. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.

C. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrates the required job specific technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities. *
1. Development and maintenance of HL7 specifications for all interface(s) required.
2. Document integration workflow (all states).
3. Software development and execution of test plans.
4. Develop computer applications and design output for various hospital departments including ones that automate routines for time and error savings.
5. Enhance and modify data entry procedures and interface specifics on existing programs and for new applications.
6. Design, test, and document operating procedures, maintain and document programs. Stay current on computer hardware, software, and networking developments; make recommendations on improvements.
7. Design and assist with validation testing for upgrades/IT changes.
8. Work on new test or test changes implementation.
9. Review and update EPIC testing/specimen requirements in accordance to the testing procedures.
10. Troubleshoot applications and system problems reported by operations or users
11. Attend Epic training and attain certification within nine months of hire.
12. Work in conjunction with laboratory department leadership
- Document on addendum age specific competency.

Qualifications
- Associate Degree or
- Three to Five years of computer programmer/analyst experience working in healthcare.
- Training and Certification with various Integration Engines such as Lyniate (Corepoint), InterSystems, Rhapsody, Iguana or Mirth Connect are desired. Epic certification is preferred.
Ability to relate well to all types of people and acts in a supportive and positive manner.
