Full Job Description

Ziglift Material Handling, a leading independent provider of warehouse storage solutions nationwide, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team.With seven strategically located facilities across the nation, we excel in delivering turnkey, innovative, and cost-effective warehouse storage solutions to our valued customers.

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for working with internal customers and external vendors, ensuring timely creation and placement of POs, receipt of POs, and reconciliation of POs . This position reports directly to the Operations Process Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

Purchase goods and services according to the company’s policy and procedures.
Creates and issues purchases orders in a timely manner.
Follow up with suppliers and vendors regarding lead times, shipping delays and communicate to internal teams.
Deals with supplier when variations arise in delivery, quality, price or condition of material.
Reconciliation of trade/exchange purchases.
Data entry of material information with accuracy.
Supports the development and implementation of purchasing procedures/strategies and sequence of operations within department to optimize workflow.
Works with internal customers. Primarily with the sales department, senior management and inventory control.
Ensures timely and accurate documentation of materials and goods received.
Maintains accurate records of all transactions, including receipts, invoicing, payments, and pricing history.
Prepares reports, spreadsheets and other documentation as directed.
Provides purchasing and receiving support for multiple locations.
Notifies supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards or operational concerns.
Performs other tasks and duties as required by business needs or management.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience as a purchasing agent, 3 years preferred
NetSuite and/or other purchasing system experience
Proficient with Excel
Excellent communicate skills
Prior systems implementation experience
Process and procedure experience
The ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Analytical, creative and out of the box thinker and problem solver
Positive attitude, team player
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $25 - $30 per hour.
