Full Job Description

As the Terminal & Maintenance Manager, you will spearhead efforts to ensure optimal functionality and maintenance of our Marine terminal at the Port of Vicksburg. Your role is crucial in maintaining high throughput and availability through proactive maintenance and strategic procurement. Manage IMI on site personnel and liaison with Contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance Oversight: Manage and supervise all material and maintenance activities at Vicksburg Terminal.
Inventory and Procurement: Maintain detailed records of equipment and manage the procurement of necessary replacements or upgrades.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Team Leadership: Train and lead site personnel, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and growth as our operations expand.
System Efficiency: Ensure the efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems through regular inspections and timely repairs.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across company premises and facilities.
Maintenance Planning: Establish and execute maintenance standards and schedules, including comprehensive long-term strategies.
Barge Unloading Operations: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all cement barge unloading activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely transfer of product into terminal storage while maximizing unloading rates and minimizing vessel or barge turnaround time.
Terminal Throughput: Optimize terminal operations by coordinating barge arrivals, unloading schedules, storage capacity, and truck loading activities to maximize throughput and meet customer demand.
Marine Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact with barge operators, tug companies, dispatchers, and logistics providers to coordinate vessel scheduling, dock availability, and unloading priorities.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventories, silo capacities, and product quality to ensure accurate inventory records, prevent stockouts, and support uninterrupted customer deliveries.
Unloading Equipment Operation: Ensure the safe and reliable operation of barge unloading systems, including pneumatic unloaders, compressors, blowers, conveyors, dust collection systems, air slides, pumps, and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.
Truck Loading Operations: Oversee truck loading activities to ensure efficient dispatch, accurate order fulfillment, minimal wait times, and compliance with customer specifications.
Quality Assurance: Maintain product integrity throughout unloading, storage, and loadout operations by enforcing quality control procedures and preventing contamination or moisture intrusion.
Operational Readiness: Verify that unloading equipment, storage silos, utilities, and loading systems are fully operational prior to scheduled barge arrivals to minimize delays.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to operational disruptions, equipment failures, weather events, or marine incidents to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.

Operational Performance: Achieve target unloading rates, maintain equipment availability above 95%, minimize demurrage and barge detention costs, and ensure on-time customer deliveries while maintaining an incident-free workplace.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement:

Produce operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Collaborate on capital improvement projects, enhancing operational capacity and efficiency.
Analyze performance regularly, develop and implement strategies to ensure continuous improvement.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel to various operation sites as needed.

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card required.
Experience in marine terminal operations highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

Strong aptitude in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Detail oriented with a commitment to following through.
Experience with terminal operating systems.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Regular standing and walking throughout the day.
Mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
