The Position:
Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences invites applicants for an Associate Professors of Nursing position, to help shape the next generation of nurses. In this role, you will teach undergraduate nursing students across didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
The Associate Professor plans, implements, and evaluates learning experiences aligned with the Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences vision, mission, values, and program outcomes. Using innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies, you will promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional growth in future nurses committed to improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.
This position fulfills the academic triad of teaching, scholarship, and service through active engagement in scholarly and service activities. The Associate Professor contributes to curriculum development and continuous program improvement, collaborates with faculty and administration to support student success and accreditation requirements, and participates in assessment and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the behaviors aligned with the mission and vision of the College and adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of the department which includes regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA, FERPA, TITLE IX, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding higher education and healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of College and department compliance requirements commensurate with position (Title IV, Title IX, Campus Violence). Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of the supervisor. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education: An Associate Professor will have a Doctoral, Ph.D or terminal degree in Nursing
Experience: 2 years of clinical practice
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Registered Nurse license in both Iowa and Illinois or be eligible to do so
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must possess and maintain ACLS

More about the Relationship with Augustana College:
On June 30, 2026, Augustana College acquired the assets of Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences. The full merger remains subject to approvals from relevant regulatory authorities, including the Department of Education, which is anticipated within approximately two years. Pending such approvals, Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences operates as a distinct educational institution and affiliate of Augustana College, while Augustana provides operational and administrative services to Trinity.

Additional Information
The budgeted compensation for this position ranges from $73,000 to $76,000 per year based upon minimum and preferred qualifications, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Actual placement within the range will depend upon experience, education, research, rank, and other relevant factors.
