Full Job Description

Company Overview
The Colonial Theatre is the vibrant hub of arts, film, music, and culture in Bethlehem, NH. This historic 300-seat venue showcases independent and international cinema with cutting-edge digital projection and surround sound, while also hosting Grammy-winning performers and family-friendly entertainment.

Job Summary
The House & Facilities Manager will coordinate and supervise all front-of-house operations for The Colonial Theatre’s events, rentals, and other public events in the space and building maintenance operations for the historic building. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, maintaining concessions and lobby inventory, as well as providing excellent and friendly customer service to all patrons in a timely manner. The House & Facilities Manager will also assure the timely and effective maintenance of the Colonial’s historic theatre, including stocking and scheduling custodial support, scheduling and/or executing routine maintenance projects, and assisting the Executive Director with larger building projects or contractor work as needed. If extending into the off-season (January-April), the House & Facilities Manager will provide administrative office support in addition to overseeing winter care for the Theatre.

Duties

Manage front of house operations for film screenings, performances, and events at The Colonial Theatre including but not limited to upkeep of the theatre marquee, film posters, popcorn and concessions equipment and stock.
Attendance at live and special film events, working with live event production and film staff and volunteers.
Act as liaison for clients and patrons on all house management issues and concerns.
With programming staff, coordinate live event set-up, green room/rider set-up, and bar set-up.
Lead weekly operations meetings to communicate with programing staff and marketing staff regarding upcoming front of house and building needs, any facilities updates, ADA needs, and other relevant information to front of house and building operations.
Establish a working familiarity with production equipment: movie projector, POS system, microphones, etc.
Oversee and monitor facility equipment: HVAC system, lights, sprinkler system, fire alarm, HI Listening, and VI Audio Narration Devices accessibility systems, electric lift operation, etc.
Oversee operational maintenance, repairs, and renovations of theatre and property.
Maintain and track concessions, front of house, and cleaning inventories and equipment.
Handle emergency and time sensitive situations that may arise in a timely and accurate fashion.
Maintain The Colonial’s good standing regarding accessibility requirements, liquor license, food service license, permit of assembly, etc.
Provide updates to the Building & Grounds committee of the board of directors
Provide Executive Director with project support and assist with office administration, as necessary. Including fundraising/marketing mailings, data entry, special projects, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

This position requires 1+ year(s) experience in hospitality and/or building management with a demonstrated strength in customer service. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are necessary for this position. Applicants should have proficiency in working with Microsoft Office, Google Docs or similar software. Familiarity with ADA rules and policies pertaining to the front-of-house are preferred. Candidates should possess the ability to attend to numerous details at one time, establish priorities, respond positively and effectively under stressful situations, and propose timely solutions to problems.

COMPENSATION

$42,000-$52,000 annual salary commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes flextime, sick and vacation time, health insurance stipend, retirement benefit, and professional development. We are seeking a strong, skilled partner who will grow the role.
