Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Water Jet Operator, where you will play a vital role in precision cutting and fabrication processes. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with advanced machinery, ensuring high-quality production standards. As a Water Jet Operator, you will utilize state-of-the-art water jet cutting technology to shape and prepare materials efficiently and accurately, contributing to the success of our manufacturing operations. We are committed to fostering a positive environment that values skill development, safety, and teamwork.

Duties

Operate and maintain water jet cutting machines to produce precise cuts on various materials including sheet metal and other substrates
Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and programming CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems for optimal performance
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and tolerances
Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC mills, lathes, and welding equipment
Assist with material handling using forklifts and cranes to load raw materials and move finished parts safely within the workspace
Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and fabrication projects while adhering to safety protocols and production schedules
Forklift operation required

Experience

Proven experience operating water jet cutting machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and plasma cutting techniques
Skilled in blueprint reading, tooling setup, and using hand tools for fabrication tasks
Knowledge of quality inspection procedures including the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
Ability to work with sheet metal and understand manufacturing processes such as stamping presses and electrical discharge machining (EDM)
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical drawings
Prior experience with welding, assembly work, or mechanical troubleshooting is a plus but not required
