Job Description

Senior Safety Specialist

Shift Hours: 3rd Shift (10:00pm-7:00am, Sun-Thur)

Salary: $65,000-$67,000

Job Summary:

Manage Environmental, Health, Safety, and Training of all Glovis Alabama employees and associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all OSHA, ISO, and Worker’s Compensation programs
Responsible for all training related to new hire orientation, equipment certification, OSHA, and EPA
Oversee Health & Safety Training Program and lead training sessions to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain all OSHA logs and Worker’s Compensation insurance reporting
Monitors Return to Work program in an effort to reduce lost time resulting from work-related injuries.
Manage post-accident drug and alcohol testing programs.
Conduct internal and external safety audits to reinforce safe work practices and ensure OSHA compliance.
Regularly inspect facilities to ensure a safe workplace including emergency response system, fire alarm, and fire sprinkler system.
Ensure district compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations related to hazardous material and waste.
Develop and implement Continuous Improvement Program for Environmental, Health, and Safety to ensure safe work practices and to reduce work-related accidents and incidents.
Investigate and perform Root Cause Analysis for accidents and near-miss incidents.
Provide countermeasures to prevent safety-related issues from occurring in all work areas.
Ability to recognize and identify potential safety risks in all areas.
Enforce facility access security requirements to maintain strict FTZ compliance.
Support team member badging process and Visitor Management System.
Prepare and distribute reports for internal and external entities.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong presentation and training skills

Preferred:

2 years or more of job related experience
2 years or more of ISO experience

Universal Expectations:

Follow all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with and follow all OSHA and Glovis Alabama safety regulations and procedures
Ensure that all care is provided with respect to customer, client, and co-workers’ rights
Ensure a safe, clean, and secure work environment
Maintain confidentiality
Adhere to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
