About Our Company:

Tri-Bros Transportation is a rapidly expanding freight logistics brokerage in downtown Johnson City, NY. Our customers need to get their goods from point A to point B and we find the best carrier from our vast, nation-wide network to get the freight delivered safely and on-time. Efficiency and Communication are the keys to our success, and we need detail-oriented high achievers to help us continue to grow.

Overview/Description:

Full-Time, 38-45 hours per week, M-F; reports to the General Manager

A clerical position assisting our busy office with the management of our Bookkeeping, A/R, A/P, Collections, and related tasks. You will primarily collect and verify shipment documents from our employees and subcontractors; process and invoice/pay our customers/vendors; submit completed packets to our financing company; and courteously perform collections activities for delinquent orders. You will also be given primary responsibility for maintaining our basic day-to-day bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks, assist with answering and routing calls, assist with posting available work to our database system, and as our office is small and growing you may be asked to assist with other office-related tasks. This position may also grow into some more significant accounting/finance duties, prospecting, executive assistance, and/or coordination with customers and vendors as the needs arise.

Responsibilities:

Document Collection, Review, and Verification
Packet Submission for Financing
Review/Audit Financing Activities
A/R, A/P, and Collections Procedures
Enter new Customer and Vendor data into system profiles
Enter updates to Customer and Vendor profiles as they arrive
Organizing and filing paperwork
Assist with answering and routing phone calls in a professional manner
Assist with other office-related tasks as requested

Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities

Be VERY Detail Oriented
Practice Rapid and Accurate Execution
Be a Team Player
Be able to take direction and complete tasks as required
Be able to focus on a task at hand and ignore distractions
Be able to quickly learn new terms, processes, and software
Have basic computer skills including: word processing, spreadsheets, Internet browsing, email, and understanding file locations
Have moderate to high skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software
Have strong English and communication skills
Understand basic Arithmetic and Geometry
QuickBooks experience strongly preferred, but will train
MS Office and Google Apps experience preferred

Experience

2+ year in an office environment where highly accurate attention to detail was required
1+ year working with word processing and spreadsheet software
2+ year working with accounting software preferred, QuickBooks strongly preferred
Transportation or Shipping industry experience preferred
Applicable education or training may be substituted for experience

Education

GED or HS Diploma Required
AS or BA/BA degree strongly preferred
