Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and guest-focused General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction, team performance, property appearance, operational efficiency, and financial results.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This position requires someone who can lead by example, hold the team accountable, and create a welcoming environment for both guests and associates.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily hotel operations to ensure a positive guest experience
Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and manage hotel associates
Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable
Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain brand standards and ensure readiness for inspections and quality evaluations
Monitor occupancy, room rates, labor costs, expenses, and overall hotel performance
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and expense control
Review operational and financial reports for accuracy and areas of improvement
Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and exterior spaces are clean, safe, and properly maintained
Coordinate maintenance needs and follow up to confirm timely completion
Maintain required licenses, inspections, documentation, and operational records
Ensure compliance with company policies, brand requirements, and applicable safety regulations
Support local sales efforts and build relationships with businesses and community partners
Work closely with ownership and company leadership to achieve property goals
Participate in emergency coverage and assist in other departments when necessary

Qualifications

Previous hotel management or supervisory experience required
General Manager experience is preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong guest-service and problem-solving abilities
Basic understanding of hotel financial reports, budgeting, and labor management
Experience with hotel property-management systems and common office software
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business degree preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required

Schedule Requirements

This is a full-time management position. Availability must be flexible based on hotel needs and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, move throughout all areas of the property, use stairs, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
