Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. In this vital role, you will assist with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and well-being. Your energy and enthusiasm will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve, ensuring they receive personalized care with dignity and compassion.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence.
Monitor patients’ health by observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to support overall health.
Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or assisting with heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers.
Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging clients in social activities or recreational programs suited to their interests.
Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning patient areas, laundry, and general sanitation tasks in compliance with health standards.

Experience

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication reminders.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder or other memory-related conditions is advantageous.
Familiarity with care protocols for hospice or palliative care settings is a plus.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are beneficial.
Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working on your feet for extended periods is essential.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude are key to building trust and rapport with clients of diverse backgrounds.
