Full Job Description

Overview

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Planning and Scheduling

· Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules for:

o Plasma cutting operations

o Forming department

o Assembly operations

o Small parts production

o Other manufacturing departments as assigned

· Coordinate production priorities with supervisors, operations leadership, and purchasing.

· Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer delivery requirements.

· Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts and recommend solutions.

· Expedite critical jobs and communicate schedule changes to affected departments.

· Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.

· Maintain scheduling reports and production planning records.

· Participate in daily production meetings and provide schedule status updates.

Inventory Control and Materials Management

· Monitor and control inventory practices to ensure inventory accuracy.

· Maintain product identification and inventory location systems.

· Research inventory discrepancies and implements corrective actions.

· Conduct inventory reviews, audits, and assessments.

· Utilize inventory management software to evaluate inventory levels and stock accuracy.

· Perform daily cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory transactions.

· Measure and weigh products as necessary.

Inventory Transactions and Material Flow

· Process inventory movements, transfers, location assignments, adjustments, and scrap transactions.

· Complete work order adjustments and inventory transactions to maintain accurate production reporting.

· Perform physical and system inventory movements.

· Investigate and locate missing inventory.

· Process non-conforming material adjustments.

· Support inventory improvement initiatives and special projects.

· Create and maintain material kits for production projects.

· Process returned material transactions and coordinate returns as required.

· Support material flow activities to ensure production efficiency and inventory integrity.

Receiving and Warehouse Support

· Assist receiving personnel as needed.

· Receive, inspect, and store inventory and supplies.

· Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documentation.

· Support loading and unloading activities when required.

· Maintain organized inventory storage locations and material handling practices.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.

· Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings.

· Ability to create, interpret, and maintain production and inventory reports, charts, and metrics.

Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

· Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Technology, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

· Two or more years of experience in inventory control, production scheduling, manufacturing operations, or materials management preferred.

· Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

· Ability to stand, walk, and work within both office and manufacturing environments.

· Ability to operate or become certified to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead lifting devices.

· Occasional travel to company facilities or off-site locations for inventory activities as needed.

Success in this position will be measured by:

· Reduction in inventory discrepancies

· Effective communication and coordination between departments

Pay: $53,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
