Full Job Description

Metro One is a dedicated Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) provider with a mission of "People Helping People." We are currently seeking qualified, compassionate drivers to join our team and serve the community with exceptional patient care and top-tier customer service. As a trusted partner for transporting individuals to vital medical appointments, we rely on our team members to ensure reliable, empathetic, and professional service. Applicants for this position must bring a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to their interview. The MVR must have been issued within the last 30 days.

Position Purpose and Summary:

As a Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for both non-ambulatory and ambulatory patients to hospitals, dialysis centers, and other medical appointments, ensuring comfort and care in a non-emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Excellent Customer Service: Be compassionate and understanding, ensuring a positive environment for our clients.
Door-to-Door Service: Greet clients and assist them in transitioning from their residence to appointments and back safely.
Drive with Confidence: Maintain calm and control while driving in all weather conditions, ensuring the safety of all passengers and others on the road.
Punctuality: Be timely and dependable, ensuring clients are on time for their essential medical appointments.
Communication with Dispatch: Report drop-offs, delays, incidents, and receive new orders efficiently from the Dispatch team.
Embrace Variety: Enjoy the dynamic nature of the job, meeting new people and visiting new places every day!

Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License with no at-fault accidents in the last 3 years (Required).
CPR & First Aid Certification (Will be provided on-site by Metro One Certified Trainer).
1 Year of Driver Experience (Preferred).
Zero At-Fault Incidents in the last 3 years.

Skills & Qualifications:

Customer Service Experience: Must have a strong customer-facing background and a proven record of providing excellent assistance to clients.
Driving Experience: At least 1 year of van driving experience preferred. Clean driving record with no more than 4 points in the last 3 years and a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Great Attitude: Empathy, compassion, and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Confidentiality: Must adhere to HIPAA regulations and all federal, state, and agency guidelines.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License
First Aid & CPR Certification

Lifting & Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 pounds (equipment only)
Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and ramps (training provided)
Ability to secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment in wheelchair-equipped vehicles, in accordance with company policy
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and repeatedly enter and exit vehicles throughout the shift
Drivers are not required or permitted to lift or transfer passengers. Passenger transfers requiring lifting must be performed by a caregiver or appropriate medical personnel
