Job Overview
Benjamin's Bakery is seeking a passionate and talented Pastry Chef and to join our dynamic culinary team. We are a Wholesale Bakery that distributes to over 100 restaurants along the Grand Strand. We also have a thriving Cafe on-site that offers our pastries and breads for retail customers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to bridge these two areas by crafting exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods while showcasing your culinary expertise and creativity. As a key member of our kitchen, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality confections, decorating cakes with precision, and ensuring all food safety standards are met. Your enthusiasm for baking and customer service will help create memorable experiences for our guests and elevate our culinary offerings.

Duties

Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts with attention to detail and presentation excellence
Decorate cakes and pastries using advanced cake decorating techniques to meet specific designs and themes
Package baked goods efficiently while maintaining freshness and quality standards
Assist in food production and food preparation processes to support daily kitchen operations
Maintain strict food handling and safety protocols in accordance with industry regulations
Contribute to the development of new recipes, menu items, and seasonal specials
Support catering events by preparing baked goods and desserts that impress clients and guests
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly used, cleaned, and maintained for optimal performance
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests about our pastry offerings when needed

Qualifications

Proven pastry experience with a strong background in baking, cake decorating, and food preparation
Demonstrated skills in food handling, safety procedures, and kitchen operations within the food industry
Proficiency in knife skills, food production techniques, and culinary arts related to baking and cooking
Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork
Knowledge of packaging methods suitable for bakery products is a plus
