Full Job Description

Starkey Brothers, Inc. (TAX | ACCOUNTING | PAYROLL | HR) is a full-service firm in Oceanside with over 40 years of success, serving corporations, S-corps, and partnerships nationwide. We are hiring a year-round Tax Preparer for a producer role with real upside: you will prepare individual and business returns, train directly under the firm's lead preparers, and build your own book of business. This position is fully in office in Oceanside, Monday through Friday. It is not remote and it is not hybrid. Base salary of $65,000 with earning potential of $75,000 to $95,000+ in year one through a 20% commission on business you originate and a tiered production bonus. Your earning potential has no ceiling; how much you earn is decided by what you produce and what you bring in.

Work Location: In person, Oceanside, CA. Fully in office five days per week. This role is not available remotely or on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

Prepare individual, corporate, S-corp, partnership, and multi-entity tax returns accurately and on time
Identify planning opportunities inside the returns you touch and communicate them to clients
Sit in client meetings from day one and learn to run them
Build and maintain your own client relationships
Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly
Maintain confidentiality and complete, well-documented workpapers

Qualifications

Availability to work on site in our Oceanside office Monday through Friday, year-round
Minimum 2 years of successful filing experience, individual and business returns
Enrolled Agent (active or actively pursuing), or CPA candidate; firm-paid EA exam fees and study materials for active candidates
Ability to point to specific returns you owned start to finish
A concrete example of business you brought in, saved, or grew, in any role
ProSeries experience preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus

Job Type: Full-time, year-round
Pay: $65,000 per year base, plus commission and production bonus ($75,000 to $95,000+ earning potential in year one)
