Director of Marketing and Communication
The E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University seeks a dynamic and creative individual for the position of Director of Marketing and Communication. The purpose of the position is to develop and implement an integrated marketing and communication strategy that advances the Wall College’s mission to internal and external audiences. The Director will manage the creation and production of various types of marketing and communication materials to support that strategy.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Directs all activities related to the creative process for all marketing materials for the college, including but not limited to promotional items, video content/production, photos, posters, flyers, postcards, invitations, newsletters, signage, and brochures. Ensures marketing materials are approved and distributed through appropriate channels (e.g., via physical and e-board displays, email, ads).
Manages all Wall College social media accounts and marketing campaigns for social media platforms and Google Ads. This includes conducting marketing and content research, directing image and/or video concept selection, determining demographic and duration of ad placement, and overseeing a weekly calendar for social media posts.
Oversees all Wall College website content to ensure it is current and accurately maintained and optimized for usability, navigability, and visual appeal. Serves as the communication liaison between the Wall College and information technology services regarding issues with the content management system and Wall College website.
Writes and edits news releases, articles, and/or feature stories regarding Wall College happenings for both university and college publications, such as newsletters and online features. Provides editing and formatting support for items produced/published by the Wall College, such as annual reports, AACSB reaccreditation reports, journal articles for the Coastal Business Journal, and scripts and programs for events such as induction ceremonies, commencement ceremonies, Wall Connections, and/or other events sponsored by the Wall College. Serves as the communication liaison for the Wall College for both internal and external constituents such as the university’s marketing and communication department, admissions, philanthropy, alumni, licensed vendors, radio, and television stations.· Serving as the communication liaison for the Wall College for both internal and external constituents such as University Marketing and Communication, admissions, the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations, Wall College alumni, and media contacts.
Supervises one or more graduate assistants and/or student workers who assist with the marketing needs of the college.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in the development and dissemination of informational material.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in social media marketing, digital advertising, web analytics, and search engine optimization. Previous experience in a marketing and communications role.
Public Information Director I (BC30/61122441/FTE-S01183P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN09. Salary range: $52,100.00 (minimum) – $70,300.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
