Full Job Description

Summary: We are looking for a motivated and dependable Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in our New London, CT office (on-site position). This role is responsible for key accounting functions such as journal entries, inventory and cost accounting, account reconciliations, and the month-end close process. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and brings a strong understanding of financial data. Prior experience in manufacturing sector preferred.

Maintain month-end analysis schedules, bank reconciliations.
Assist with cost accounting, including material, labor, and overhead analysis.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
Support AR and AP Reconciliation.
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries
Assist with month end and year end closing
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Identify opportunities for process improvements
Support Ad-hoc projects.

Skills & Competencies

Strong time management (to meet close deadlines).
Effective communication (to coordinate with cross-functional teams).
Analytical Person (to research reconciling items).
Continuous Improvement Mentality
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional team.
Manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience; manufacturing sector preferred.
Knowledge of general accounting practices; GAAP a plus.
Experience collaborating with external auditors and tax accountants.
ERP systems: Epicor, Quickbooks, Macola & Tableau experience desired.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
