Position Summary
The Field Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, executing and supporting industrial asset recovery projects at customer facilities throughout US. This position serves as NRI's on-site representative, coordinating project activities, communicating with customers and internal teams, and assisting with the successful execution of projects.
This role is particularly well suited for candidates with previous supervisory or lead experience in rigging, field service, industrial maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or other hands-on technical environments who are looking to transition into a project coordination and field operations role.
The role requires frequent travel to customer locations. During periods when travel is not required, the Field Project Coordinator will work from NRI's Delta, Ohio warehouse, supporting warehouse operations, inventory management, project preparation and other operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer facilities throughout the United States to support industrial asset recovery projects and represent NRI Industrial Sales in a professional manner.
- Coordinate and execute on-site project activities, including pre-project planning, participation in project kick-off meetings, inventory verification, asset identification, documentation, project execution, and close-out while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Company standards.
- Verify project scope, identify operational challenges and potential project risks, and communicate recommendations to management to support successful project execution.
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between customers, contractors, project teams, and Company management by providing project updates, resolving issues, and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Follow Company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer site safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture. Identify workplace hazards, report safety concerns, participate in safety meetings, and encourage safe work practices throughout project execution.
- Coordinate and provide day-to-day direction to project personnel, temporary labor, and contractors, while supporting employee training, mentoring, and overall project productivity.
- Review, update, and maintain project documentation, including inventory records, photographs, project reports, and other supporting documentation.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to review, sort, filter, update, and reconcile project inventory lists while identifying discrepancies and maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, logistic and project teams to ensure the timely movement, shipment, staging, and documentation of materials and equipment.
- During periods when travel is not required, support warehouse operations, project preparation, continuous improvement initiatives and other operational activities as assigned.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, warehouse operations, safety practices, and operational efficiencies, and recommend process improvements to management.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Project Management, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field is required. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- 2-5 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, logistics, construction, rigging, or related environment is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
Work Environment
This position requires frequent travel (approximately 75%) to customer project sites as business needs require. During non-travel periods, work will be performed at NRI's Delta, Ohio warehouse in an industrial environment. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating warehouse equipment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when working in warehouse and customer site environments.
